Default What is this filter?

I checked my air filter today during an oil change and noticed some sort of filter attached to the underside of the upper air box. It is about 2" long. Has anyone else noticed this? I have no idea what it is for. Any info would be appreciated. If it matters, I have a 2013 2LT Spark.

Without a photo my guess would be its the filter for the pcv valve. The pcv valve ventilatates the crank case. Because it can have oil residue and other stuff in it it gets its own filter.
