i know this is an older thread but since i,ve recently joined and read it i thought i would add my input. i have the smaller 1.0ls and when i first started driving it was initially disappointed with it,s performance. it certainly seemed gutless as borne out by various reviews. at the time of posting this i have now clocked up just over 1000 miles and already i am beginning to see an improvement as the engine loosens up.

also i have been monitering the fuel consumption and this too is gradually improving from an initial 42mpg, (uk gallon) to 48mpg, and finally 53mpg. this represents mixed urban and motorway driving but mostly trying to keep the revs below 3000. i did briefly open her up after the first 1000 miles and managed to see just over 100mph on the clock at 5000 revs. i still reckon she will loosen up some more as the miles rack up and i shall post up my findings. most of my motorway driving was done at 55-60mph. again once i,ve covered more miles i,ll try at 70mph.
